Why did you write this book?

Through my own experience with numerous self-help methods and products I found that there was something missing. I knew many of them were based on sound assumptions, yet they still did not work that well for me and for many others. I believe I know why and The MindTech Principles is the result.

What are the MindTech Principles?

The principles are building blocks of understanding. They build on each other and present a comprehensive picture of how the spirit/mind/body continuum works and how to willfully move the continuum in a direction of your choice.

What is a continuum?

A continuum is a seamless system of components. In this case it would be the human system comprised of the physical, mental, and spiritual components. Each component, while retaining its own seperate agenda within the system, overlaps the others resulting in a single system of three parts.

What is the paradox?

Many self-improvement methods are based on valid assumptions, yet they don't work for most people.

The missing link is understanding. Understanding brings confidence, confidence brings sustained effort, sustained effort brings results.

What is your opinion regarding the effectiveness of self-improvement programs in general?

Many of the programs available today are based on valid assumptions, but are sold and presented to play on people's emotions. The failure rate is so high because the fundamentals of personal change aren't clear, we are essentially told to believe in things we don't understand and can't personally relate too. Doubt grows over time as a result and we abandon the work what ever it was.

What is your take on the Law of Attraction, is it valid?

The Law of Attraction states that like attracts like. Building on this premise the law further proposes that what you think is what you will attract. I couldn't agree more. The problem, however, is in our understanding of how this works and what we really need to do in order to make it work for ourselves. The book contains a detailed explanation of how the law works locally in our everyday experience.

What can one hope to gain by reading The MindTech Principles?

The MindTech Principles will answer many of the questions people have about why they have the thoughts, emotions, and experiences that they do. One of the greatest frustrations in human experience is when we have a compelling desire to achieve a certain thing yet find ourselves seemingly powerless to move forward in any meaningful way. The MindTech Principles explains this and shows the way out. Simply understanding the dynamics behind self-defeating thinking by itself can result in a significant breakthrough.

So, why do we defeat ourselves?

Defeating behavior is the result of a self-preservation instinct coming from one of the three primary dynamics in our lives. This instinct is in contradiction to another of the dynamics which in turn results in frustration.

What are the three dynamics?

There are essentially three forces at work in our experience; first, there is the agenda of the our spiritual component. This is a positive, creative force that seeks to expand it's experience. Second, there is the physical component with which we mostly identify on a daily basis; the agenda here is survival. The combination of these two dynamics result in mental processing, or the thoughts and emotions we have on a continuous basis. Third, there is the feedback component, the input we receive as a result of our our actions and our environment.

What specifically can we do to change our self-defeating behavior?

A knowledge of what is "under the hood" of our experience goes a long ways to solving the paradox of self-help. Secondly, the persistent use of a few techniques outlined in the book will put you on the road towards your goal. Persistence becomes far easier when you understand why you are doing what you are doing and when you understand what to expect along the way in terms of yourt own internal reaction to change. You will not easily be deterred from your goal as a result.
